There was this young man out on the streets.
Parents kicked him out with nothing to his name, and nothing to eat.
They told him to come back when he learned what the meaning of having money was about.
The meaning of money?
He thought to himself and was quite confused for he had just asked for a weekly allowance. What meaning to money? He pondered in his mind. Five dollars is all I was asking…
Later that nite the young man came home very tiered, bruised and distraught.
The father asked if he had found the meaning of money and plainly the young man said to his dear dad, ”Dad I had found a couple meanings to what money is all about.”
The father looked at him with a raised eyebrow and said ”oh, did you my boy.”
The boy started to explain that some people want money for greedy reason. He said he seemed to have found that out when a man had jumped him and taken all his hard earned cash from his job that day; thinking he had found the perfect job and perfect meaning to tell his dad. So his father had wrapped an arm around his son and brought him inside their old creaking house and sat him down on a rickety oak bench near the ashy cracked fireplace.
“You had a rough day son I can tell…” the father began. “Son, there is this young man that had almost stolen my hard earned cash one day. Actually it was today that happened. I work hard for you and your mother but you were like the person who stole your hard earned money. Son, the other meaning of money is to buy stuff to take care of your family , it’s a simple humble act, and you were being greedy by asking for money for your own gain and pleasure. Do you understand?”
The young man really didn’t like what he heard but accepted it and knew it was true.
feedback please?
Us kids have never had an allowance... my parents figure that doing things like cleaning up after ourselves should be something we have to do whether or not we get paid. lol, thanx for the tag! glad I'm home
